Dr  Durrell is amazing and I highly recommend him. A truly caring healthcare provider. He takes a personal interest in identifying root causes and addressing each carefully.  After being treated by 5 different Gastroenterologists prescribing drugs that made me worse for 6 years, Dr Durrell ran extensive tests and identified my problems. Dr. Handwerger is the first practitioner, holistic or otherwise, who was able to get to the root of my gut health issues. After years of feeling off despite eating well and living a healthy lifestyle, I finally have answers and a clear path forward. He is kind, thorough and genuinely knowledgeable in a way that is rare to find. Like other reviewers have shared, he truly takes the time to listen and understand your full picture. He ordered the right microbiome testing and bloodwork, interpreted the results with precision and identified exactly what was driving my symptoms. He nailed it. Now I am on the right regimen, my body is healing and I feel so much better. As someone who always prioritized clean healthy eating and exercise and self love, it was deeply confusing and distressing to develop blood pressure spikes and to be unable to eat even my healthy foods (like vegetables, chickpeas, spouts and some fruits). I highly recommend Dr. Durrell!! After relocating to Miami, I was in search of a new integrative doctor and so happy to have found Dr. Durrell. My health has completely turned around thanks to his guidance. He focuses on finding the root cause of the problem all while explaining to you what is going on with your body. He is very patient, I never feel rushed during out apts and you can tell he really cares and wants the best for you. I’ve been seeing doctor for 7 years due to severe unexplained digestive symptoms despite the fact that I only eat healthy food, and all doctors (more than 25 doctors) from 3 different countries disregarded my complaints and told me that I don’t have any health issues. I was prescribed anxiety medications which was not really the real fix for my problem. When I met Dr Durrell from South Florida Integrative Health Center, he carefully listened to me, was able to put all the pieces together, and asked for the correct lab tests in which we found at least 5 areas that requires immediate attention.
